What is the average cost of the Gem? What kind of batteries you use? How long it takes to recharge? How long is the average battery life? I was told that Lithinum battery can’t be recycled.
Top speed is mid 30′s but it depends on road grade/condition & temperature. Some models can go near 40mph.
The important thing to remember is going faster DRAMATICALLY reduces the range. You should approach it as auxiliary power and use full power only when needed if you want to maintain a reasonable range.
I basically cruise at 30mph on the flats and only floor it if I’m holding people up (such as going up a hill) or if in a hurry. Mine will still only do 25 or so up a steep hill
What is your top speed on this with all your modifications? I am looking at buying one since Gas is out of control and I find nothing wrong with looking for alternatives. After all Gas isnt going to last forever, adn hate empting my wallet to make other people rich if i don’t have too. Great ride man, Looks cool, Please tell us all your top speed
my friend has a four seater like this. His dad took of the governor and added longer lasting batteries. The highest I’ve had it up to is 39 mph on a full charge.
So, with the larger motor and wheels, what is the new top speed? Also, I assume the speedometer no longer displays the correct speed?
I’ve been making some modifications to the one at work. I shortened the brake rod to lower the brake pedal height (improves safety) and discovered a quick solution to the lack of a turn signal sounder while eliminating that stupid 45 second alarm.
No. My wife & I use it locally – to take the kids to school, dinner, errands, etc. My job is around 8 miles away so i could drive it but then my wive would ahve to use the SUV

Die, but my chances of getting hit are going lower each day thanks to gas prices.
