Isn’t it obvious? The performance? 380 horses vs 225 horses. 6.2 sec vs 7.9 sec.

hybrid costs more same reason as solid state drives cost more then regular hard drive theyre new and youre paying for the idea of it to cover the costs of building them may be theyll become cheaper later as more people buy the hybrid variants its that simple

Nice review, thumbs up. 60k+ for a VW is a bit nuts, I prefer the TDI more but over 50k is also quite expensive for that iteration. I could buy 2x JSW TDI for that price. JSW TDI is great btw, wife’s car which she loves. Personally I would love to see a 3.0 TDI offered in Q5 for the USA…..dare to dream

I test these every day and the hybrid better… i know.. i work in slovakia at VW… :))

  14. juukame says:

why would you pay 60000 dollars for the hybrid when the diesel is much cheaper and more efficient?

My God! Everything he said about this vehicle up until 6:14 was great! How can you call this a luxury vehicle and not have adaptive cruise, suspension, blind spot detection or ventilated seats (These are just heated). This is just a High priced go fast suv with leather, fancy sheet metal and by Xenon lights.. The next best thing to this would probably be the Audi Q5 hybrid which has all the goodies this one comes with and those I mentioned! The always short change the American market.

Is it hybrid which split into two axles, or is it gasoline front axle and electric rear axle? But really, as Kai Philipp said, I don’t see the point of hybrid over diesel. Maybe if they make diesel hybrid it will start to make sense.

Infiniti’s M35 Hybrid has a combined horsepower of 360 (including the electric motor). I does 0 to 60 in 5.1 seconds and all of that with a 32 mpg rating! I can’t wait till Infiniti puts that hybrid drive train into the EX or FX SUV’s. That will blow anything VW has to offer in the hybrid world out of the water.

Thanks much Jeff. No, not a YT partner. Not sure why. Sort of a chicken and egg thing, can’t be a partner if you aren’t popular, can’t be popular if you aren’t a partner.

Another great review. I love your candidness about the vehicle, unlike other reviewers that have more of an advertising feel than a review. Always friendly/cheerful too…I enjoy watching the reviews about cars I have ZERO interest in, such as this. I clicked the LIKE button :-)
